Outfield, Catcher, and Pitcher depth

Update: Ryan Ludwick was just signed to a 1 year contract for 2.5 MM. I’ll have more on it later

Late last week Jocketty said he hoped to have an outfielder signed by the end of this week. Often-rumored Seth Smith was traded this afternoon to the A’s.

The Reds signed Catcher Dioner Navarro for depth to most likely play at Louisville.

My Prediction: The Reds will sign either Ross or Ludwick by the end of the week. It’ll most likely be Ross.

On Saturday the Reds signed Pitchers Ron Mahay and Clay Zavada. I don’t expect to see them much with the Reds unless they are hit hard with injuries.

CBSSports.com is reporting that they are close to a two year deal with Arredondo. He could do well with another year removed from Tommy John Surgery.

The Orioles are interested in former Red Fransisco Cordero. He hasn’t been linked to them at all yet this offseason.
